On the 8th Day, God Created Trevor...
My name is Trevor Stern and I am 16 years old. I am a lover of many sports (especially baseball) and am a compulsive performer of both guitar and vintage videogames. My academic goals are to graduate with a degree in either media broadcasting or graphic design. In regards to classes, I personally admire poetry involving imagery. Poetry is (in my opinion) one of the most open and easy methods to express one's ideas. Imagery is my favorite branch of poetry in that it paints a detailed picture with many abstract ideas and metaphors that all converge on the same point. On many occasions in my Freshman year, I made expeditions to Dolores Park, simply to let the wind rustle across my face, feeling all my hairs stand up in the invigorating sun. To me, imagery is most simple to convey when the user has a personal experience that directly involves them. To absorb information quickly, I recite my lines orally to myself, allowing the words to memorize themselves. I find this a highly effective study method. As far as this semester's themes go, I believe that perseverance is key to my success. Normally, I will start a class impressively, but become lazy half-way through. When I do buckle down and work, I generally function best in quiet environments with little to no distractions. Its a back-and-forth issue that I'm always trying to tackle.
On this site, I am presenting an astonishing 5 (yeah I know) literary pieces. Mr. Elizalde's never-ending stream of assignments has kept me dilligent despite my greatest efforts of procrastination. I suppose you have to take the assery with the badassery, right? (ha ha ha ha... heh heh heh... ummmm... sorry Mr. E) Anyhoo, my presentations will occur as follows:
.the Sweet Potato Pie Essay
.the Fall Midterm essay
.a poem on "War of the Worlds"
.the Digital Story video
.the International Interview Project essay
I hope you will enjoy it!
